Now people who like simulation games and buy then frequently, know the feeling. The thrill of finding a simulation game that sounds and looks promising, but when you install the game and played it for 5 minutes, find out it is a total waste of money.

You know what I’m talking about. The garbage truck, airport and forklift simulators that have such bad graphics that your eyes are starting to bleed. not to mention the bugs, oooh the bugs.

Well, I was weary about 112 Notruf. But I still bought it. Fair to say that in the beginning, the game was not that good, and I have not played it a lot. I kept it installed though and saw that the developers did regular updates and thought, well, maybe this game might become better.

Fast forward a week ago. I saw a new update and thought to myself, let’s give it another go. And I am Glad I did. Ok, the graphics are not that good (mind you they are A LOT better than I expected.) But the vehicle models are realistic, the immersion and eye to detail are really, really good and the game plays like a good sim.

Slide down those poles.

You start at your own Firestation where you can either do a training in the yard, or you can wander around the station and look at the fire engines. If you don’t want to do that you can follow your fellow Firefighters on the top floor in the canteen and have an Imaginary beverage.
And then the Alarm sounds. A german Voice through the PAs system tells you that there was a car accident and wich units are assigned to the case. I follow my fellow firefighters to the staircase and find the sliding pole. NICE! At the bottom of the floor, I enter the assigned vehicle and set the system to “Enroute to scene”, ram that blue light button, and sound that horn! Get out of the way people, There are fires to fight!
Yep, the game really is immersive and I like the fact that there is so much detail in the missions. For instance, at a car crash, you are not only saving the people, but you also have to clean up any toxic spills like gasoline that were leaking from the car. With grit and a broom. How immersive do you want a game to be?

For me, this one is a keeper. I will follow it and play it from time to time.
